Flight Training Circulation Profile

CIRCULATION OBJECTIVE

To reach all new student pilots, flight instructors, and private pilots continuing their training or interested in proficiency and back-to-basics information.

TOTAL DISTRIBUTION

Averages 120,000 per month, depending on student starts.

COMPLIMENTARY SUBSCRIPTIONS FOR STUDENT PILOTS

- Every student pilot can receive a complimentary six-month subscription to Flight Training Magazine plus a six-month free AOPA membership by completing a subscription card provided by his or her flight instructor or flight school. Our complimentary subscription and free AOPA membership offer is also extended to student pilots who have not already signed up through a flight school program by matching our database against the FAA student start tape. Each month we add between 3,000 and 4,000 new student pilots to our database for an average monthly student pilot distribution of 50,000.

COMPLIMENTARY SUBSCRIPTIONS FOR FLIGHT INSTRUCTORS

- Flight instructors who are active and currently involved in flight training qualify for a complimentary subscription that continues as long as the instructor remains active. All active flight instructors are periodically provided booklets of complimentary subscription cards. The instructors and student pilots must complete their respective portions of the cards to activate complimentary subscriptions.

FLIGHT SCHOOL DISTRIBUTION

- Flight schools all across the country receive complimentary copies of the magazine each month, and periodically receive booklets of complimentary subscription cards for new students. We actively manage our database of more than 3,300 flight schools.

FOREIGN CIRCULATION

- Flight Training gets international exposure through newsstand distribution as well as through several flight instructor associations. We also have distribution in several aviation bookstores in Canada and around the world. Flight Training international distribution averages 3,000 copies per issue.

PAID CIRCULATION

- When a student's complimentary subscription nears completion, we write to ask if the pilot is interested in continuing to receive the publication on a paid basis. If the pilot does not respond, his or her name is removed. Our conversion rate is considerably higher than the industry average, ranging between 25 and 35 percent. Flight Training is also known in the industry as a good "refresher" for private pilots interested in sharpening their skills. Flight Training currently has approximately 70,000 paid subscribers.

NEWSSTAND DISTRIBUTION

- Flight Training is sold on a limited basis on approximately 2,500 newsstands (worldwide) through a distribution network. Additionally, Flight Training is sold through several aviation bookstores each month. We are currently distributing more than 9,000 copies through newsstands and aviation bookstores worldwide.

TRADE SHOW DISTRIBUTION

- Flight Training is distributed at various air shows and trade conventions including: Women in Aviation (WIA), Sun 'n Fun EAA Fly-In, EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, AOPA EXPO Convention, and National Business Aviation Association, Inc. (NBAA).

TAPPING NEW MARKETS

- Flight Training continuously strives to reach prospective new pilots through high school vocational guidance counselors, career days at local airports, and by encouraging new entrants interested in recreational or professional flying.
